  2019 GLIAC DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Heath Williams, Saginaw Valley St.,...Senior defensive tackle Heath Williams capped-off his Cardinal career with another stellar season in anchoring the SVSU defensive line. Garnering plenty of attention from opposing offenses, Williams racked-up 38 tackles, with five of those coming in the form of sacks and totaling 7.5 tackles-for-loss. Heath ranks third all-time in SVSU history with 22.5 sacks and is third in single season sacks with the 13 he collected in his junior campaign.

The 39.5 tackles-for-loss he has posted in his career rank third all-time as well for the East Lansing native who has 135 career tackles. Williams becomes Saginaw Valley's second-ever GLIAC Defensive Lineman of the Year, with the only other being 1999 NFL first round draft pick Lamar King in the 1998 season. - Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football

  OCT 7 GLIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Marvin White, Saginaw Valley State,...Junior defensive back Marvin White picked-off his second pass of the season and returned it 92 yards for a touchdown in SVSU's 55-29 Axe Bowl victory over Northwood. It was White's second pick-six of the 2019 season, adding to the one he had in week one at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Marvin added four tackles with a tackle-for loss in the victory and now has two GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in 2019. Saginaw Valley leads the league with nine interceptions so far this season and ranks seventh in the nation. He carried the ball 16 times for a career-high 131 yards and a touchdown. McCrary leads the GLIAC with a 6.8 yards per rush average in 2019. The Cardinals rushed for 173 yards in the victory against the Huskies, who rank third in the league in rushing defense.   SEPT 23 GLIAC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Connor Luksic, Saginaw Valley,...Sophomore kicker Connor Luksic had a huge game in SVSU's 23-7 home victory over undefeated Michigan Tech on Saturday afternoon. Luksic booted three field goals, connecting on kicks of 47, 43 and 26 yards. He punted the ball five times as well, pinning the Huskies inside the 15 on all of those kicks. Three of the kicks were inside the 10, including one at the four yard line and another at the one yard line.
